Boat ride at Velenje lake

The Velenje Water Sports Club has been active for more than 35 years and currently brings together 84 members who passionately preserve and develop the tradition of sailing and other water sports.

The club’s main activity is organizing sailing courses for children and adults, providing a safe, fun, and high-quality introduction to the world of wind and waves. In addition to courses, the club hosts numerous events and regattas each year, including the night regatta, Fireball and FY class competitions, monthly training regattas, and the popular Pippi Longstocking regatta. One of the season’s highlights is Kresna Night, which attracts numerous visitors to the lake and contributes to the lively atmosphere at Velenje Beach.

The club actively participates in promoting the lake and the broader destination, believing that sports connect people with nature. In addition to organized activities, the club offers boat rentals, including single-seat, two-seat, and larger sailboats, as well as catamarans. Individuals can also try stand-up paddleboarding or windsurfing, as the club encourages independent exploration and enjoyment on the water.

For those seeking a relaxing and unique view of the Šalek Valley, a boat ride on Lake Velenje is an experience not to be missed. As you glide peacefully across the water, panoramic views of the surrounding hills, Velenje Beach, and the mysterious world of submerged trees unfold before you.

Two options are available: a ride on the traditional pletrca boat, which accommodates up to 16 passengers, or an electric boat named Pozoj, suitable for up to 7 passengers. Both vessels provide a calm, eco-friendly journey and a great opportunity to see the destination from a different perspective.

Boat rides operate from Friday to Sunday between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and during the week, trips can be arranged by prior agreement.
