The Škale, Velenje and Družmirje Lakes are areas of infinite opportunity for active water experiences and various water sports.
Velenje Beach
acclaimed best Slovenian natural beach in 2018, provides a number of sailing, stand up paddleboarding, and rowing opportunities and other sports, besides relaxation in the sun or in the shade of friendly bars, with swimming and entertainment for kids in the water park. You can learn skills, such as surfing or sailing in an optimist sailboat, and you can rent sports equipment.
Excellent choice for fishing
The lakes are an excellent choice for nearly all types of fishing: float fishing, handlining, fly fishing, bottom fishing and spinning. Škale Lake is known for sheatfish, Velenje Lake for large carp, the Paka River for fly fishing for autochthonous trout.
