Velenje Youth Hostel is located only 500 metres from the town centre and the main bus station, on the shores of the river Paka opposite the Livada Elementary School. The hotel has been completely renovated and refurbished and has 58 beds in two- to six-bed rooms. In addition to accommodation comprising bedding, towels, a locker, the use of Wi-Fi and a common kitchen, guests can also use machines dispensing warm and cold drinks and snacks, as well as laundry services. During their free time, guests can visit the Youth centre located in an annex in the same building.

Groups can also hire seminar facilities and lecture rooms with all the necessary equipment at competitive prices. In addition to breakfast, upon request, they can also arrange lunch or dinner in a nearby restaurant. The kind team of the youth hostel will take care of guests and offer all information and advice you need. Part of the youth hostel has been adapted to the needs of the disabled.

Velenje Youth Hotel is part of the Hostelling International network, which is an umbrella organization and unites over 70 national organizations that include youth hostels – hostels of individual countries.

In 2017, they obtained the HI-Qualitiy light quality certificate from the Hostelling International organization, which upgrades business standards and ensures constant progress and improvement in business, resulting in greater transparency and a more satisfied guest.

By expanding the operating standards in the field of environment and sustainability, they obtained the Hostelling International Quality and Sustainability (HI – Q & S) environmental and sustainability certificate in June 2022. The certificate is also recognized by GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) and ZSST (Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism). With an internationally valid environmental certificate and the signature of the Green Commitment of Slovenian tourism, they thus fulfilled the conditions for obtaining the Slovenia Green Accommodation sign.
